Scope & Applicability
We may collect both personally identifiable information and anonymous user data when you visit or access our Site, register for a race event, subscribe to our e-newsletter, create or edit an account, make a donation or other purchase, or participate in events on-line.
v Creating an Account/E-Newsletter Subscription
When you create an account, or edit your account information, we may collect personally identifiable information such as your name, address, phone number, email address, username and password. We may also collect additional demographic information such as your gender, date of birth, country of origin, income, and wheelchair participant status.
v Making a Donation or Purchase
When you make a donation or purchase through the Site, we may collect financial information such as your credit card number and/or credit card security number, account information, and information about the date, amount and nature of financial transactions. C2C uses third party service providers to process all donations and purchases.
v Site Profile/Fundraising Page
If you choose to establish a Site profile or a fundraising page, we may collect information about the charity you wish to support. You may also have the opportunity to voluntarily upload, post, or otherwise provide additional information about yourself to be viewed publicly on the Site such as your date of birth, hometown, profile biography, photos, videos, opinions, statements, advice, comments, data, or other information.
Anonymous User Data
When you access or use the Site, we may collect and store anonymous user data such as site usage details, Internet protocol (IP) addresses, the domain name of the site providing you with Internet access, browser type and version.

C2C utilizes cookies and anonymous identifiers to collect usage data and customize our Site content. The information stored in cookies may be linked to the personal information you provide while visiting our Site. You have the option to decline cookies on your computer by configuring your preferences options within your web browser. C2C, and third party service providers acting on our behalf, are in compliance with PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
Information Sharing & Disclosure
We will share your personal information with our third party service providers and contractors only as necessary to process your financial transactions including donations, provide services in connection our Site, communicate news and information about C2C, and to improve your experience on our Site. These third party service providers are authorized to use your information only to the extent necessary to serve these purposes, or as otherwise stated in this policy.
Unless you request otherwise, when you make a donation, we will provide the designated charity and associated team leader with your personal contact information including, but not limited to, your name, address, phone number, and email address. We will also provide the date and amount of your donation. If you do not want your personal information to be shared in this manner, you may tell us not disclose this information at the time you make your donation.
Except as described above, we, or third party providers acting on our behalf, will not sell, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information without your consent except when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our Site policies, or protect ours, or others rights, property, or safety. However, anonymous user data may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
Social Media, Public Forums & Blogs
C2C operates a public forum page to allow our users the opportunity to communicate with one another online. We also operate corporate blogs and microblogs. These forums are operated by independent third parties such as Twitter, Facebook, WordPress, Tumblr, and Pinterest. Any information that you submit on these forums will be governed by their privacy policies. You should review their privacy policies before you participate. You should also be aware that any information that you submit or post can be read, collected or used by other users. Your information may also be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these forums.
We have taken reasonable precautions to help keep your personal information secure and confidential. These precautions include physical, electronic, and managerial controls to safeguard and protect from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction of any of your personal information in our possession. When you make a donation or other purchase, your information will be transmitted using industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer encryption and/or other encryption or security measures. However, such encryption is not used during day-to-day use of the Site. Please remember that the security of any information transmitted over the Internet cannot be guaranteed.
California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act). C2C does not knowingly collect, use or disclose any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our Site, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
You have the option of unsubscribing from the C2C email newsletter or deactivating your user account at any time. All emails include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email. You should know that if you choose to deactivate your user account your Site profile and/or fundraising page will no longer be publicly accessible from the Site; however, the provided personal information in our possession will not be removed from our database.
